We’ve been thinking a lot about how we can give back or just give as part of our business proposition.

It is my fundamental belief that a business can be both socially supportive and profitable at the same time.  Holly Tucker, on her conversations of inspiration podcast talks about this a lot and most of the business owners that she talks to have managed to incorporate a social cause as part of their business.

Micro businesses can have a social impact

But it doesn’t just have to be big businesses that do this.

A few months ago I had the privilege of meeting Alisoun MacKenzie.  Alisoun is an inspiration and has decided that she is going to make her focus on showing small and medium businesses how they can be a profitable force for good.  She is the author of the book Give to Profit which answers all your questions about how to make giving a natural part of your business.

In this interview Alisoun shares how she got started being a business for good, and lots of tips and ideas on how you can bring that into your business.

The two organisations that Alisoun mentioned during our conversation were https://www.b1g1.com/, https://workforgood.co.uk/, so do make sure you check them out.
